The kids chose to have their birthday dinner
at Texas Roadhouse. I am happy
to say that this year they actually got on
the saddle when they sang happy
birthday to them!!

I really can't believe that my sweet, happy
little girl is 7 years old now! I honestly
feel like it was just yesterday that
we had her. She is growing up way
too fast, it actually makes me quite sad!
Pretty soon it's going to be makeup and boys
and talking on the phone all of the time. Doug
is having a hard time with it too. He is in
denial that his little girl is growing up!

Jayden turns 5!

I can't believe he is 5 years old. The
last 5 years have flown by. I try and tell
him he is still my baby, but he refuses
to believe me! He says he is a big boy now,
but I tell him he will always be my baby!
He is such a boy too, he loves monster trucks,
bikes, scooters, wrestling and being a total
goof! Love you so much my little man!!

I love this man. He makes our family work. Without
him I would be lost and so unhappy. He is my strength,
my sounding board, my protector, my eternal companion,
my one and only, my greatest advocate, the man who holds my hand
and wipes my tears when I am struggling, the one who allows
me to be who I want to be, he is the one who makes me happier
than anyone ever has. He is the glue that holds this family
together. Jayden likes to say that I am the nurse boss and dad
is the pilot boss, but we all know who the real boss is and he's ok
with that! Without him our kids would never get any vegetables
or really good, healthy food! I love that when he comes home
from being away from the family for a week, he dives right in
and does everything for the kids and for me. I will forever be thankful
to his mom for raising such a wonderful and confident man.
I know it's not easy to be married to a confident, strong willed,
sassy girl like myself at times, but I know he loves me even
more because of these characteristics. I am truly lucky and
blessed to have him as my husband and the father to our
children.

Gingerbread House

Most people know that I don't have the most patience in the world, so when the kids
wouldn't stop asking for a gingerbread house, I told them to wait until dad got home
and he would do it with them. They were so excited about that. So, I bought the ginger-
bread house and told Doug that he was going to have so much fun doing it! Ya right!
Needless to say, Doug didn't have much fun, but the kids did! Once it was done it was
all we could do to prevent them from destroying it and eating it. We made them wait a few days and this is the result.

Jayden gets to take Grover home from preschool
periodically and he takes him everywhere! I LOVE

Halloween 2009

Jayden was good ol' Darth Vader this year
and loved it. Of course, by the end of the
night he wasn't wearing his mask or
carrying his light saber, but he still looked
the part! He actually said he had enough
candy towards the end and wanted to go
home! Obviously his mother didn't teach
him that you can NEVER have enough
candy!

Kyla was Gabriella from HSM. She
looked so stinkin' pretty. She did get
to wear makeup and she was ecstatic!
She has the longest eyelashes ever!
Unlike her brother, she didn't think she
had enough candy at the end of the
night! Thank goodness!

1st lost tooth!!

Kyla lost her 1st tooth on August 29th! She was so excited.

I realize she looks scared in this picture, but this was her smile
when I asked her to smile for her picture! The tooth fairy
came that night and was extra generous for her 1st tooth!
We made sure she realized that she wouldn't be as lucky with
the rest of her teeth!

First day of school!

My two very cute kids! I can't believe
Kyla started 1st grade and Jayden is in
his last year of preschool! Where did the
time go?

We finally let Kyla ride the bus to
school this year and she was super
excited! She loves the bus. We'll have
to see long the excitement lasts!

Hanging out with Grandma & Grandpa

Kyla and Jayden decided to look for scorpions
with their cool head lamps. Thankfully they didn't
find any!

Jayden and Kyla love Grandpa's tractor! They
are always begging to ride on it!

Sedona trip cont...

This hiking trip was short. We didn't want the
kids to get too tired and then have to carry
them. They did really good. They really liked
climbing all of the rock stairs.

This is Doug and Jayden holding this rock
apart. Aren't they strong?!

This was in Red Rock Canyon. Isn't it pretty?
This was our last "hike" on this trip. We really
went there so we could play in the water. Let's
just say it was a little bit chilly in the water!

We had a lot of fun here. This is the tail end of
slide rock. The kids loved walking in the water.
They were pretty wet by the end. I guess we
should have worn our bathing suits!

Sedona trip

The whole family was able to go to Sedona this
week and we had a great time! The kids have never
been there, so it was time to take them. They
were so excited to go.

They weren't excited about hiking or throwing
rocks in the river. They were super excited about
getting to sleep in a hotel room and go swimming!

As you can see, we all had a great time. It was
wonderful to get away from Tucson and go
somewhere that was green and had water!

Father/Son Campout

Doug and Jayden went on the Father/Son campout
this past friday and had a blast! Jayden was so excited
that no girls were going to be there, that it was only
him and his dad!

I love how happy they look! Both of them getting
dirty and no mom there to pester them to wipe off
their faces!

This is our poor little Cinderella, Kyla! She was helping her dad wash his car by cleaning out the cup holder (that had who knows what in it) when Doug heard her say "I have to clean just like Cinderella does!" Oh, the drama!

Today is Doug's birthday, unfortunately he isn't here, he is at work. The kids and I decided to make a short little birthday film for him! I hope you enjoy it Doug. We miss you so much and wish you could be here on this very special day! We love you and hope your day is great!

The kids had a lot of fun coloring Easter eggs and having an Easter egg hunt.
We sure wish that daddy could have been here, but we took lots of pics so he could see how much fun we had.

I love the excitement the kids had when they were hunting for the Easter eggs! They had a very fun time.

Kyla turned 6 years old yesterday and we are in shock!
She was so excited to open her presents before school.

She was really surprised that she got this dog purse.
It has been in my closet in the gift pile to give to
someone else and she has been begging me for it
since we bought it. I loved the look on her face when
she opened the present!

Today was Jayden's 4th birthday! He was so excited. We were sad that Dad was at work, but Jayden still had fun. We were able to hang out at Grandma and Grandpa's house for a good part of the day and the kids loved that. I can't believe that our little boy is 4 years old. He is so much fun and such a blessing. I love his personality, his acting like a dog, his beautiful blue eyes and the cute freckles he's getting on his nose. What a precious little boy. We love you Jayden.

The kids all had fun with the bubbles. It was a windy day, so we really didn't have to blow at all. Doug of course is always surrounded by children. He's like a magnet!

Jayden's 4th Birthday Party!

Jayden finally got his very own birthday party this year! We decided to have it at the park by our house instead of at our house because who wants a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds wrecking their house? Not us! Jayden had a great time. The turnout was more than expected and he loved it. He loved playing with all of his friends and cousins. I can't believe he is getting so old! What a sweet kid! We love him so much

He loved opening all of the presents, so did all of the other kids who also opened the presents for him. Let's just say that I have no clue who gave Jayden what. It was utter chaos!

He has decided that he likes to wear his hat backwards now. He looks pretty stinkin' cute if I must say so myself!

While I was doing the entry on Jayden, I realized that Kyla is going to be 6 years old next month also! My sweet little girl is going to be 6! I feel too old. I love this picture of her, it is one of my favorites. She is 5 1/2 months old and already a daddy's girl! I look at this picture and wish I could rewind the years and hold her again as a baby! I miss it so much already. What a blessing she is!

I was scrolling through our thousands of pitures on our computer when the realization hit me that my baby is going to be 4 years old next month! Where has the time gone? He is so stinkin cute in this picture. He was 5 months old and his personality was blooming! He was getting ready to cut teeth as you can tell from all of the drool! I miss those baby days so much!

I have to wonder who dressed her or better yet who let her walk out of her room like this. I think his name is Doug. I am pretty sure I was sleeping because I had worked the night before because I know I wouldn't have allowed her anywhere near the door! How sweet 5 year old innocence is. She is trying so hard to match all of her clothes and in this instance she would have told me they do match because they are all pink. I don't allow Doug to help Kyla match clothes because he can't match his own clothes! He is color blind so I will give him a break, a woman's work is never done!

Transportation week at school

On Wednesday Kyla got to bring her bike to school and ride it around the parent pickup loop to celebrate the end of learning about different types of transportation. Everyone got to ride their bike, scooter, skateboard, etc. She has gotten very good at riding her bike without training wheels and wanted to show off a little! I was a little worried because when she panicks she forgets how to stop and plows right into things, like mailboxes and bushes! That is why she always wears a helmet! Of course she was really excited because her dad was going to be there too! She loves her daddy so much.

The other night when Doug was reading stories to the kids before bed, Kyla asked if she could read a story. Doug said sure, why don't you lay in the middle of Daddy and Jayden that way we can both see the story and what you are reading. Kyla said no because if she did she would be boy trapped! I have no clue where she comes up with this stuff! The wonders of kindergarten!

I love my kids so much. To me they are the most beautiful children in the world. I don't know what I would do without them. They bring us so much joy. They are growing up so quickly, that it actually scares me and I want to slow time down.

Doug was changing my brakes and Jayden of course wanted to help! He loves everything is Dad does, especially when he gets to be dirty!
Doug actually let Jayden do a lot of the work and Jayden loved it. Jayden is very proud of himself for fixing mom's brakes!

To say that Jayden loves trucks is an understatement. He has an obsession!! He loves everything about them. Right now he loves only hotwheels. He has been known to throw away little matchbox cars if they aren't hotwheels! He can be quite the stinker! Needless to say, he is a bull in a china closet, but he is my sweet little boy!

Kyla left this sentence on her magna doodle for Doug on Monday night after she kept telling him she wasn't tired and he made her go to bed. I was at work and Doug was home with the kids. When she finally fell asleep, he went in her room to turn off her bedside light and he found this litte love note sitting for him to see on her bed! She sounded it out all by herself, I must say that I am proud of her! When we showed it to her the next day she just laughed! Doug says that she is definately my daughter, when what he really means to say is that she is sassy!

Doug and the kids decided to go to this really neat place we have behind our house called Sanctuary Cove. There is an old church there and it really is a beautiful place. I don't go because the kids get to do some rock climbing and I am at times a little paranoid. They had a lot of fun with their Dad. Kyla wants to go Monday after school, maybe mom can go too!

Since this was Jayden's 2nd time here, he was instructing Kyla how to climb up the rock. He's got to be the boss whenever he can because it's hard to take that title away from his sister!

What a wonderful day Christmas was. The kids had so much fun opening their presents. The looks on their faces were priceless. I loved the things they would say when they would open a gift, from Jayden's "no way" to Kyla's "I always wanted that." We had so much fun, but the best part was that we got to spend to time together as a family. We are so thankful for our family and we cherish the time we have together. After we opened presents at our house we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to visit them. The kids were able to open more presents, but even more important they were able to play with their cousins. They had so much fun. We are thankful for the holiday season and especially for Christmas because it' s the day Jesus Christ was born. I am thankful that my children know and understand the true meaning of Christmas.

Papa's visit

Papa (aka grandpa) came to visit just after Thanksgiving and the kids loved every minute of it. They love when they get to see him and hang out with him. We decided to show him what Tucson was like, so we took him to the Desert Museum. The kids had a blast and I am sure that Papa will being moving down here anytime now!

The kids were excited to wear their new Christmas clothes to church on Sunday. I finally broke down and let Kyla have gold in her dress. She tells me all of the time that it's one of her favorite colors and I try and tell her that it's not! What an overbearing mother I am. The kids are so excited for Christmas. Kyla has been counting down the days for the last 6 months. She lets me know multiple times throughout the day how many days are left until Christmas!

I keep hearing that I should start a blog, so I have finally decided to try my hand at it. I am excited to show my family and friends who aren't close by updated pictures of the family. I hope everyone likes it. I am sure Kyla and Jayden will love to look at it.
